Rock Out

Who would have guessed that a $10 guitar from target would have been Cole's favorite toy? Every morning we come downstairs and Cole says that he wants to rock out. We turn on the TV and if it isn't loud enough he gets mad until we turn it WAY up. Then he does his thing.

I knew it!!!

I knew I wouldn't be very good at blogging. Anything that requires me constantly taking and posting pictures is trouble. Sorry. Guess it's a good thing we live close to family, you can see us all the time even if I never update our blog.

It's about Time

So I know I haven't put anything on here for a while. I knew I wouldn't be good at this blogging thing, but oh well. Here's some pics of what we have been up to this summer.

Happy 4th of JULY

We had such a great 4th of July weekend this year. We got to spend time with our families, eat lots of good food, play and see some awesome fireworks.

Hallie was a big fan of the fireworks, she just clapped for more.

Cole, not so much. the first night I had to lay down by him and cover his ears, but the second night he was rocking out with the music. Too bad I didn't get a pic of that.
We played dressup at Grandma Buttars - aren't those glasses cute?

Gotta love the shoes
Mmmm. Delicious.

So much fun!!!

Brian took Cole boating. He had such a good time. Hallie and I stayed home because we weren't feeling well. He had a great time I was sad to miss it! He went for a swim...

then took the boat for a spin.

He watched Brian wakeboard and just wanted a turn. He kept saying next time Cole's turn (or so I was told).

Some Funny Pics of the Kiddies

Our "pretty" little Cole. He loves to put on Hallie's bows and always shows me just how pretty he is. He's going to have some issues to work out later in life!

Here's Hallie playing Peek-a-boo with her hat. I walked into the bedroom and she was laughing like she does when we play peek-a-boo with the blanket. She had grabbed on to the ribbon and pulled down her hat and it just covered her eyes. I thought it was pretty funny, apparently so did she.

This is a favorite past time of Cole's He takes the whole package of stickers and puts them on his face. It's great entertainment for him. He just hates when we take them off (ouch).

I think Hallie had too much to drink!

Yay It's Finished

So most of you know that I kept putting off doing a blog because I didn't have my food storage done, and well I have a blog now so that means I'm finished. I'm ready for that big awful disaster that is coming our way. Not really, but at least we have food and have 72 hour kits. How we are going to carry those kits if we have to is beyond me. I have to give credit to my neighbor Teri. She lived in California for about 30 years and she is super big into food storage. When she finished her basement she built a cupboard just to store toilet paper. She has about 6 packages from Costco in there. So I thought I would put up some info on food storage and emergency preparedness in hopes that any of you who are not so caught up on your storage will work on doing that. My other neighbor jokingly tells us that he is coming to live off of our food storage, hopefully that isn't your plan too, to mooch off your neighbors. I feel a lot more comfort knowing that I have done what I could and should to prepare my family for whatever may come.

This is the churches site on how much food you should store http://providentliving.org/content/display/0,11666,7531-1-4062-1,00.html

This is the order from for the cannery it also tells how long food should last

One day, when I have lots of money, I'll have these for all my canned food.
